Black women come in so many different shades, sizes and shapes.  We are beautiful in our uniqueness and in that which connects us all.

Love that Suzette! It's so true. I remember some years back being in Atlanta, (which by the way has some of the most beautiful black women on the planet), a girlfriend and I were at a club. We stood in the bathroom mirror getting our little looks together along with about 7 or 8 other black women. As I looked at all of us in the mirror, all looking fabulous, there was every shade from deep mocha to chai vanilla, I said out loud, "oh my God, I cant believe how beautiful we all are!!" Everyone bursted into this warm fuzzy laughter, following it up with random compliments.."Girl I love your hair", "the bag is the bomb!" It was one of the most beautiful moments. We really are beautiful because we're varied, yet we have so many similar threads between us. Hmmm. Thanks for that memory Suzette. (((WARM FUZZIES)))

powerful beyond measure

the marriachs of our community

kissable lips

strong muscle structure

sense of style & cofidenc thats  all our own

We age like no other

 

FROM THE CHEEKS TO THE COLLAR BONES TO THE SHAPES O OUR CALVES OUR CNTURS ARE DISTINCTIVE & REMARKABLE

OUR VOICES MEOLDIC, SOULFUL & STRONG

OUR SMILE LIGHTS UP THE WORLD

We have the ability to withstand any obstacle thrown in our way because of who and how God made us mentally, spiritually and even emotinally. We have the mindset of a warrior when its time for warfare against the enemy, we are queens of our castles, ladies for real men and ghetto for the gangstas..lol yall know where I'm going with this any how the hats are endless. We are just like Burger King you can have it your way ...if we have to go hood its cool, Dante is not a problem or we can be as quiet as a church mouse until we are agitated wrong...just to name a few . We are strong independent woman that know how and when to be weak, we recognized the strength of God in the man and have no problem submitting to the Abraham of our live ....but now ray ray or june bug might catch a beat down lol. Black Sistas are beautiful and passionate hardworking individuals that at some point in this journey called life will become a wounded soldier and may at some point feel like giving up but at the end of the day she is strengthend and comforted when her heart is truly connected to her Heavenly Father. We stand out because that how God made us and when we are confident and true to our own person there is no roommate for jealosies or any other unholy self centered intention we were created to love and respect each other through Christ Jesus

Ms Nora, I don't know whether to  say "AMEN" or "Um Hmm, Yeah Girl" , lol;)

Your words are sooo perfectly descriptive , truth telling & just plain ol Right On Time!!!

 

I can highlight soooo many lines from your piece that I completely agree with. You made my eyes sparkle & soul light up. Im inspired to take this glow towards my pen & pad this afternoon and give "The Queen" another literary companion, lol:)
