Find Purpose, SistaHood, Yourself
WHITNEY'S SERVICES INSPIRE.... PURPOSE DRIVEN SISTASTRONG, ON COURSE.
Watching the Whitney Houston funeral, there were so many beautiful moments. Both joyful, funny and reflective and grief sticken, sorrowful, and melancholy. One consitant theme was present throughout, the plight of purpose. Pastor Marvin Winans closed the service out stating that we are to go to the manufactuer and the manual to find our purpose.
In October 2011 SistaStrong began a course to create a space of Black women to grow. In January 2012 we had the very specific direction from God to specify this goal into helping Black women to gather and find their purpose. It is days like this when it is confirmed that we are aware we are on course and hearing from God. Pastor Winans spoke of the manufactuer. Just in January and this month of February, I as the chief contributing writer on SistaStrong, wrote about our turning to our manufacturer to find out how to use this product, that being our lives.
We stand ready and set for all things that God has for SistaStrong and how it will reach women all over the country and all over the world. We're grateful to be in that position and to have been put in this place.
Blessings to all those who are part of SistaStrong, who have poured into, who have encouraged it's vision. May you have a double portion of what you have offered. RIP Whitney, vigilant prayers for her family.

Truly touched by the service & all who came to send the condolences & offer the kind words to the family. I loved how Whitney's family & friends offered a chance for us all to hear stories of the sides of Whitney that we didnt get to see. She always seemed funny & full of life, but to hear how she wanted to genuinely help The Winans when they were on tour together with "matching costumes" or how while stopping for gas, w/her bro-in-law & bodyguard, that she was looking out for him thru a cracked window!!!!! LOL I know that she was a blast to be around!!!! I hope the family is able to begin healing, with the Homegoing done, & as folks that travelled out to see them all head home...may the messages felt & shared by all help to hold them up & thru these, the next coming days.
