I 1st want to wish you a beautiful birthday celebration, and I do mean celebration. I wish you a day that is not marked by sadness, but rather rejoicing in the moments & memories. I wish you a day filled with sunshine & smiles, hugs & laughs -- from those that know and love you best.
The death of a parent is never an easy loss to manage. The love & support of family and friends help to bring comfort & some gradual peace of mind.
I know that words can't erase the loss, but prayerfully they help to ease the pain. I speak to you from a place of sincere understanding, as I am still processing the loss of a parent as well. There is a special bond between parent & child that time, distance, & even absence can never break. Know that the love shared between you & your mother has not ended- but instead has just begun to get stronger. Know that it is that strength which will help you to sustain during the rough moments. Those moments will pass- but don't be afraid to embrace them. Allow your self the time & space to cope anyway that works for you & leaves a residue of peace .
The most important "gift" a parent can lavish on a child is the inner "presence" of Love. That internal love is the very seed planted within us that helps us to grow. Know that your mother's love is forever rooted within your heart and will always be there to nurture you.
So tonight I ask that a comforting spirit of serenity rest beside you. My prayers are also with your family at this time. Know that HE truly doesn't give us more than we can bare - though we weren't promised to always understand, we were promised to never be alone during the process.
