I also wanted to say that I understand where you are coming from with the posted pic that has sentimental connection to your father. I have a few pieces of Art work in my home that have the same purpose to me as well, including a framed note that happens to be one of the last he ever wrote me. It was included in one of my last birthday gifts from him ---- see I lost my father as well, not quite 2 yrs ago yet, so the lost is still raw & wounds still fresh.
I totally like your choice of photo because I actually debated on getting that same piece of art long time ago--- the image of the sista is also what attracted me too:) It reminded me of myself when I 1st went natural & tried all these "bold" statements with my hair...

Ok first let me say that I just now came across this reply from you onmy video of Anita Baker's "FairyTales". Im a firm believer in no such thing as "coincedence" -- with that said, it was meant for me to come across THIS reply post tonight. The sermon, msg & affirming Word at my church this morning for the 1st & 2nd service dealt with Building healthy self-esteem. Writing your own Story based upon what You say about YOU & knowing what GOD has already spoken about You.
I personally love msgs like that because it's just what I'm about. Mostly women get effected by these talks, but I also believe that there are many brothas who could benefit from such a powerful introspective msg as well. How we (WE) feel, think, & believe about ourselves is soooo critical to what we produce in this world. When we act negatively & contrary to our natural purpose, it's such an insult to our inner greatness. It belittles what is in us to do- what our divine assignment is to the global community.
Thank you so much for responding & thank you even more for being a fellow "light" out here seeking to guide others safely through.
