SistaStrong is a new social networking site and Sista community created for African American women. SistaStrong's guiding principle is that of assisting African American women in defining true strength in their lives. We are opposed to perceived, burdened or stereotypical strength. Finding true strength is based on that which builds, elevates and pushes Black women forward. When real strength is acquired the African American woman can walk into her purpose with her full energy, vitality and sound mind in tack. We sit in partnership with her on this journey.
Originally founded in 1999 and relaunched in October of 2011, SistaStrong was formed with the additional intention of creating sisterhood amoung Black women. In a landscape where many of us feel a disconnection, SistaStrong aims to close gaps, create communication, encourage support and establish a place where African American women can come together. We are the avenue where she can create circles and networks. She can also find knowledge of who she is and whom she belongs to. She'll gather positive images of herself balanced with a little bliss and laughter. With these tools she will be empowered to move towards her full potential. Reassurance, confidence and tools are aquired with a legion of women standing behind you.
